About our Children's Social Care Team
The Children's Social Care division is part of Lewisham's Children and Young People's Directorate. We provide services that protect, care for and support children, young people and their families in Lewisham. We're proud to outperform neighbouring boroughs in their KPI's and we pin this success down to excellent training and development, a solid management team and regular supervision.
An open culture and flat structure.
Everyone is treated with respect in our division - and everyone gets the support that they need to perform the job professionally. Our flat, non-hierarchical structure allows us to rely on and learn from each other, and to celebrate our successes together. The supervision and support we provide ensures there are clear objectives for everyone. We've a culture of listening - our social workers tell us that that they feel listened to and that our managers are approachable and accessible.
We need more permanent social workers.
While we have mostly permanent staff, we still have vacancies to fill. Turnover is pretty low. But if we're to really build on our successes, we need more social workers, team managers and other specialists to join us on a permanent basis. More permanency means more stability and more options to plan for the future. So if you join us in any of the roles we're offering, you can expect to get lots of support and encouragement. You're valuable to us, and most importantly, to the children living in our borough.
